Asciidoctor section anchors in awestruct

ge0ffrey
Does awestruct support asciidoctor section anchors?
They make it easy to allow any website visitor to link to a specific
section inside a html page.

Does the default awestruct stylesheet support them?
   http://asciidoctor.org/docs/user-manual/#anchors
Note: the reason why I was able to link the above section directly, is
due to sectanchors.

You need to add

asciidoctor:
  :attributes:
    sectids: ''

To your site.yml and it should work fine. They're not enabled in Asciidoctor by default.

Just tried it, and I am afraid it doesn't work.
Note that all sections already have anchors automatically, even without "sectids".
The problem is that I want the § symbol to appear on the left of the section title when hovering over the section title.

I also tried
asciidoctor:
  :attributes:
    sectanchors: ''
But that didn't work either.

Bob has said he's going to spend some time this weekend and over the next couple of weeks on making awestruct suck less. He has a laundry list of things already. I know asciidoc was one of them.

Re: Asciidoctor section anchors in awestruct

Why is this a problem with Awestruct or AsciiDoc? If you want anchors in section titles, you have to have a visual component. Asciidoctor puts the anchor in the HTML. You just need to add the CSS. I don't think Bob's changes are going to have anything to do with enabling this feature.

Possibly not. He's going to add a bunch of things by default I think.

I don’t recall the details, but it seems every time I wanted to use asciidoc, I had to add a bunch of stuff to my config.yml.

I’d like “reasonable defaults” so that just creating an .adoc file would generate the common case.

There's a default config.yml file that is loaded, put things in there.

It's both an AsciiDoc setting (global attribute) and CSS styling.
